From the development of innovative processes to the optimization of existing ones, we contribute to numerous projects utilizing bacteria, yeasts, fungi, and microalgae.

Objectives

These projects have various goals, such as the production of biomass, value-added molecules (peptides, proteins, enzymes, antibiotics, chemical synthons, bioethanol…), or the transformation of raw materials.

Achievements

We can develop or adapt cultivation conditions in bioreactors (batch, fed-batch, continuous), conduct microbiological and physico-chemical monitoring of fermentations in liquid or solid media, and standardize pre-culture steps to facilitate scaling up.

  • Development of an indigenous ferment for AOP Rocamadour cheese.
  • Establishing a cultivation method for Klamath microalgae (scientific name: Aphanizomenon flos aquae) in collaboration with Kyanos Nutrition.
  • Cultures of bacterial and yeast strains for enzyme production in food applications.
  • Optimization of enzymatic hydrolysis and alcoholic fermentation conditions for cellulose pulp derived from straw pretreated using the Organosolv process.
  • Development of natural and sustainable antifungal solutions for viticulture, arboriculture, and market gardening.

  • Industrial-scale development for enzyme production, plastic hydrolysis, and monomer purification for plastic recycling, in collaboration with Carbios, TBI, and TWB.
  • Enzymatic hydrolysis of waste for biopolymer flocculants, such as alginate, using a microbial consortium.
  • Development of a medical device with immobilized enzymes for autologous blood transformation.
  • Studying the degradation of antinutritional factors in legumes for the Pasta Seniors project in partnership with Nutrinat.
  • Immobilization of enzymes (hydrolases, isomerases, transferases) for pharmaceutical (racemic resolution) and food applications.
  • Implementation of industrial enzymes in continuous reactors.
  • Screening fungi strains for the production of specific enzymes.
  • Optimization, purification, immobilization, and continuous bioconversion implementation of enzymes.
