PRODIGES Project

Microbial bioproduction: towards sustainable and less costly processes

From march 2025 to July 2028 (40 months)

The PRODIGES project aims to revolutionise continuous bioproduction processes and meet the challenges of sustainability and industrial performance. It offers a sustainable alternative thanks to stable continuous processes, guaranteeing increased productivity and consistent product quality.

TWB, as project leader, will be responsible for designing original production strains and optimising the production stages. CRITT Bio will be responsible for integrating the purification stages. LGC will be responsible for analysing key economic and environmental indicators.

ObjectiVEs

The main objectives of the PRODIGES project are:

  • The construction and optimisation of two microbial cell factories: the focus will be on genetic stability and secretion capacity.
  • The evaluation of continuous culture processes: online monitoring, production stability, productivity and quality.
  • The optimisation of downstream processing operations: comparison between batch and continuous processing.
  • Technical-economic analysis and life cycle assessment: consideration of constraints to optimise costs and manufacturing specifications.

Intervention
CRITT Bio-industries

CRITT Bio-industries is involved in optimising and validating the purification stages of proteins of interest.
