CALipSO Project

New routes for continuous production of aromatic esters using optimized lipases

April 2024 – March 2028

Visuel Projet Calipso

The CALipSO project aims to demonstrate the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of an enzymes production chain and their exploitation to produce 8 natural biosourced esters of interest, mainly dedicated to the pharmaceutical markets. food, perfumes and cosmetics.

Project

objectives

The CALipSO collaborative project, led by the company Naturamole within a consortium of 3 public laboratories, all located on the INSA campus in Toulouse (Toulouse Biotechnology Institute TBI, CRITT Bio-industries and Toulouse White Biotechnology TWB aims to accelerate the energy and ecological transition of the chemistry sector by capitalizing on recent scientific and technical advances in the field of industrial biotechnologies).

During the 4 years of the project, CALipSO sets the objective of providing concrete solutions for industry, through the development of innovative enzymatic catalysis processes, targeting the production of a family of natural esters intended for various markets in the food industry, perfumery, cosmetics and specialty chemicals.

CRITT Bio-Industries

Contribution

CRITT Bio-industries will carry out the development of purification and immobilization processes for the enzymes of interest, their optimization and their scale-up.
